THE PERMEKEMUSEUM


From 1926 Flemish expressionist Constant Permeke came regularly to Jabbeke where he rented a house in the ‘Dorpsstraat’. Between 1929 and 1930, he decided to build his own home and studio in Jabbeke. He named the property ‘De Vier Winden’. In 1959, the house became the ‘Permeke Museum’ and is now open to the public. Continue >>

THE CHURCH OF SAINT BLASIUS


The Saint-Blaise church built in 1871 contains numerous objects of beauty and inte-rest. Buried in the churchyard are notable people, including Constant Permeke and his wife. Their grave is embellished with a sculpture by Georges Minne.

THE MASKO WOODS


The Masko Woods are a overspil from the larger Vloethemveld. This wooded area and moorland boasts a frog pool and a butterfly field dating from 2007. Since 2000, the Masko Woods have been the property of Natuurpunt Jabbeke, an organization dealing with the protection of nature. Both ramblers and cyclists can enjoy the network of trails, and mountain bikers the ‘Bossenroute’, (the woods bicycle route), running through these woods.

THE BRUGES-OSTEND CHANNEL


The construction of the Bruges-Ostend canal from the river Yperleet took place in the 17th century, lading way to the growth of new flora and fauna. The canal passes throught the community and is very popular with both cyclists and ramblers. Both canal banks are adorned with impressive rows of trees. You can find a jetty for pleasure boats at the ‘Stalhillebrug’. The new Stalhillebrug opened to the public on 14th June 2008, is definitely worth a visit.

THE CHAPEL OF PIETER DERUDDER


The chapel of Pieter De Rudder in the Fla-minckapark was built by the family du Bus de Gisignies to implore healing.

The presence of baytrees raises exhibited products to the highest level and reinforces their class and elegance. Part of the buildings act as information and documentation centre. RECREATION PARK KLEIN STRAND


Recreation parc Klein Strand offers you all the facilities for a sporty or relaxing expe-rience. You can take a refreshing dive in the water sport lake with water slide complex or sunbathe peacefully on the sandy beach. In July and August we highly recommend the water ski show on Sundays.
